Where is Chipeta & Ridgway, Colorado ?

We are centrally located on the San Juan Skyway. Many of our guests that are traveling on San Juan Skyway found our hotel accommodations as a great stopping point. We are the cross roads to southwestern Colorado, as Ridgway is the gateway to the San Juan Skyway. Ridgway is also located midpoint between Montrose, Colorado and Telluride, Colorado at the intersection of highways CO62 and US550. Ridgway is just 15 minutes from Ouray, Colorado. Other towns along the Skyway include: Ouray, Silverton, Durango, Cortez, Delores, Rico, and Telluride.

Two National Parks are in close proximity to Ridgway and the Chipeta Sun Lodge.

The “Great Room” with our 2 story plant filled Solarium makes for a cozy spot to relax after a day of adventure in the mountains. A crackling wood fire, sipping hot tea, a Chipeta chocolate chip cookie, a good book, or conversation about the day’s adventures just might be the perfect ending to a perfect day.! Our Resort is named in honor of Chipeta, the wife of the great Ute Indian leader, Chief Ouray. The Utes once inhabited this valley of healinghot springs. Hot Springs

Orvis Hot Springs is a clothing optional natural hot springs resort that does not heat or treat their water in any way. They offer seven soaking areas that range in temperature from 98-112 degrees. Four of their soaking areas are outside where you can enjoy the gorgeous Colorado sun and the star filled evening sky. They also offer an indoor pool and two private tubs which are great for getting out of the sun or inclement weather. At Orvis Hot Springs, you will find that their natural lithium water will allow you to rest, relax and feel rejuvenated when you leave.
